Introduction

Karari is my first, and only, adopted design, having been adopted from TakoKat on August 10th, 2019. This likely makes him my second ever character, although there is a slim chance that Mocha actually predates him as his earliest designs were lost to time.

Significance

Back when used Bit as my online identity, Karari saw use as my private identity. He would go on to become my only online identity for a shortwhile between 2020 and 2021, after I decided to step back from my social medias. As a result of this, he became fairly synonymous with me, ultimately becoming my namesake.

Although he has been retired for quite some time, his name has become my one and only identity online. Even when using other characters to depict myself online, I'll always be known as Karari now, rather than using the character's name.

Adoption

Karari was adopted on August 10th, 2019, from a batch of adopts on DeviantArt by TakoKat. I recall that my reasoning for picking him over the other designs in his batch was that I found the light blue / orange contrast to be pleasing, and that he just looked tired as hell, which quite frankly fit me well.

Trivia

• Karari is my first and only adopted character.
• Karari is my namesake, despite having been retired for a long time.
• I originally named Karari as "Kawari", which could be translated from Japanese as "Alternate". He would be renamed to "Karari" due to me always pronouncing "Kawari" as such.
  • For a period of time, he also had the surname "Moji", which could be translated from Japanese as "Character" (as in a letter/character of text). This meant his name could be read as "Alternate Character", elluding to his original purpose (albeit, not quite correctly).
• The artist who I adopted Karari from happens to share the same birthday as me. Doesn't have much to do with the character, I just think its a neat coincidence surrounding such an important character to me.
• Before I had my Mocha avatar on VRChat, I used a Protogen avatar that I had textured to match Karari, whom I named "Protorari".
• Has been sleeping far too often.
